Prior to the arrival of Tibetan migrants some 300 years ago,Langtang was considered a "Hidden Valley", a place of refuge. Located near the Tibetan border due north of Kathmandu, it is Nepal’s most accessible high trekking route. With its close proximity and moderately high elevation, Langtang offers the highlands of Nepal to those who don’t have an extended vacation. Your Langtang trek begins in Dhunche and ascends into a forested valley adorned with Spanish moss and delicate orchids. Rising out of the forest, you enter the open upper valley. The trail follows the glacier-fed Langtang river on a high, but gentle valley floor. The crest of the Himalaya dominates the skyline to the north, culminating in Langtang Lirung the highest peak in the region. The highest year-round settlement in the valley is Langtang village, a community of Tibetan-speaking farmers and herders. Here, and at Kyanjing, cow-yak crossbreeds provide milk for the local cheese factories.

SNT offers treks to the Everest Base Camp (EBC) through the ‘classic route’ across the Sherpa heartland, leading right to the foot of Mount Everest (8848m). This lodge-based trek has travelers follow in the tracks of mountaineers who attempt to summit the challenging peak from the Nepalese side. Trekkers pass through Sherpa country, past cultivated fields and small villages with plenty of opportunities to experience the local culture and lifestyle. Our trail follows the DudhKosi before an invigorating climb up to Namche Bazaar, one of the main stops on the trail to the EBC. Views from the Bazaar are spectacular with its tin-topped houses and spectacular mountains towering above the tree line. The monastery at Thyanboche, is yet another highlight of the trek, that stands picturesque atop a hill against the backdrop of AmaDablam, Everest and other snowcapped peaks. With acclimatization completed in route, travelers will be able to trek to the Everst Base Camp on the Khumbu glacier and can opt to climb Kala Pattar (5545m) for a breathtaking view of Everest or stand amongst the greatest mountain panorama on the planet.

The Everest region has more to offer then views of the world's highest mountains; it is the homeland of the Sherpa people. On this trek our experienced guide (Sherpa) takes us away from the most trekked trails, introducing us both to his own village and the fabulous Mani Rimdu (Masked Dance) festival, as well as some of Khumbu's remote and fascinating monasteries. We take several little-known trails affording views of Everest, Lhotse, Kangtaiga, Ama Dablam and the other great peaks of the Khumbu area. We join festive crowds of Tibetans and Sherpas at Chiwong Gompa for the annual Mani Rimdu Festival. This is the region's main festival yet few Westerners reach this remote corner of the mountains. In the presence of the High Lama, the monks don elaborate brocade costumes and perform the ancient temple dances that have changed little for hundreds of years. This is the perfect way to see the Everest range away from the crowds and gain a first-hand view of the tradition, religion, and culture of the Sherpas.

This remote & rewarding trek to Everest Base Camp start in the subtropical low land or 'Tarai' of Nepal, crosses the Mahabharat range and enjoys excellent views of Kanchenjunga & Everest as it enters the very heart of eastern Nepal. As we descend to the Arun river, our interest focuses on the people. Limbus and Rais were the earliest settlers, although now there are also many Chettris, Brahmins & Tibetans, living traditionally in medieval villages. Leaving the valley we have some challenging days as we used rarely trodden trails through some of Nepal's most beautiful forests. The passes offer tremendous views of Mera peak & Chamlang (7319m.) from this spectacular wilderness we enter the Dodh Kosi valley & head north to our final destination. We spend several day acclimatizing amongst the fabulous Khumbu Panoramas before trekking to the glaciers & peaks above base camp with their magnificent morning views of the summit of Everest. Here, Amadablam, Taweche, Pumori, Nuptse, Lothse & Everest provide the highest panorama on earth.

This trek circumnavigates the entire Annapurna massif from Dumre, through Manang, over the Thorung-La (a 5450m high pass), and down the Kali Gandaki gorge, finally passing through Tatopani (hot spring) finishing in Pokhara via Beni. The trek offers a true cross section of Nepal; lowland rice plantations, deep pine forest, spectacular mountain views, arid desert country in the rain shadow of the Himalaya and a great variety of ethnic groups along the route all combine to make this trek a scenic and culturally interesting experience. Because the route follows the valleys instead of climbing over ridge after ridge, it is not as difficult as the Everest trek, but the crossing of Thorung-La requires two days of strenuous effort at high altitude. This trek is scheduled at times when there is typically good weather, but it is possible that unseasonable snowfall may delay the crossing of the pass, so the itinerary for this trek is especially tentative.

This is by far the most popular trek in Nepal and is referred to as a highway trek by people who have trekked extreme remote routes. During the peak trekking season, Sep/Oct & Nov, it is overrun with trekkers. There is a good reason for this popularity. The trip is relatively easy except for a day or so out of Pokhara. The climb does not go above 13,000ft, so most trekkers will not be bothered by altitude sickness. The trekker will enjoy spectacular views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri & Machhapuchhare (Fishtail Mountain). The trail passes through many interesting villages inhabited by different ethnic groups. Trekkers climb from lush low land forests to the arid wastelands of the upper Kali Gandaki, which the landscape is similar to the Tibetan plateau. Enjoy a visit to Muktinath temple 3798m and walk down to Jomsom. Fly back to Kathmandu via Pokhara.

The best way to do the Gosaikunda trek is to visit Langtang first. For those with a short time schedule should start from Gosaikunda Lake. The lake has a black rock in the middle said to be the head of Lord Shiva. According to legend, Shiva created this high altitude lake when he pierced a glacier with his trident to obtain water to quench his thirst after consuming poison. There is a white rock under the water that is said to be remnant of an ancient shrine of Shiva. The upper part of Helambu is inhabited by Sherpa's who are very different from their cousins in Solu Khumbu. Instead of Tibetan style black dress and colorful apron. You will be happy doing this easy trek. Then trek back to Sundarjal and up to the Hindu holy lakes and pilgrimage site of Gosaikunda. This pastoral mountain journey ends with a shuttle ride back to your hotel accommodations in Kathmandu.

Ganja La is flankled by pinnacles that mountaineers call gendarmes and topped by prayer flags and large cairn. During the beautiful trekking tour we will visit the narrow valley of Langtang situated south of the Tibetan frontier. The Lantang is sandwiched between the principal Himalayan mountain range and, lesser southern mountain ranges, such as the Shisha Pangma (8,013 m), the Langtang Lirung (7,426 m), The Gang Chhempo (6,388m), the Naya Kangri (5,846 m) and the Dorje Lakpa (6,975 m). The Helambu valley is combined with the Langtang Valley by a pass, Ganja-La. This is a beautiful and interesting tour that is not far from the Capital.

This is a seven-day trek that makes a circuit of the Helambu region. The easiest starting point for this trek is Sundarijal because of its proximity to Kathmandu. We can trek in either direction, because it closes a loop from Pati Bhanjyang, the preferred route is clockwise. We first visit the high ridge to the west of Helambu Valley, then head to Tarke Gyang and descend to the Malemchi Khola before climbing back to Pati Bhanjyang. There are other possible variations, including a direct route to Tarke Gyang from Pati Bhanjying, than down the ridge through Shermathang, ending at Melumchi bazar. The Helambu trek is an easy trek to low elevation. You do not need as many layers of warm clothing. This area is a non-tourist area & with a greater focus on Sherpa culture.

TA remarkable experience, climbing slowly by road out of Nepal, through high passes, visiting the major towns of this once forbidden Kingdom of Tibet. We start early morning drive northwards through the hills & rice paddies. If weather conditions have been bad, we may walk several kilometers to arrive Tatopani, although porter will carry our bags. After spending a night in this border village, we cross the Friendship Bridge and walk up to Zangmu, The Tibetan border post. The following day we begin our drive over the plateau, crossing a high pass of roughly 17,000ft. to reach Xeger Zong. This is an isolated village and the highest one we visit; hopefully we will catch a glimpse of Mt. Everest on the way up. We continue across the stark landscape of bare mountains, glaciers & lonely hamlets to Xigatse, once the home of the Panchen Lama and 2nd largest city in Tibet We spend a morning visiting the Tashilhumpo Monastery and the market, then drive to Gyanste. This town was largely untouched during the Cultural Revolution, and the monastery here contains some particularly fine examples of Bon-Buddhist deities. Once again through picturesque agricultural landscape, we approach Lhasa & get our first sight of the Potala Palace, high on the hill. We spend two or 3days in Lhasa, visiting the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple that draws pilgrims all over Tibet, The Drepung & Sera Monastries,. Then we came back to Zangmu same route or fly back to Kathmandu from Lhasa. (Both way Overland trips will take 12 days trip from day of departure to arrive in Kathmandu)
A remarkable another experiences, climbing slowly up to Zangmu same as Lhasa trip. If weather is permitting, Everest will be on view. We cross the river & travel through beautiful valleys, dotted with hamlets to Raka. Here we camp at the junction of the North & South routes. For the next 3days we travel over the great Tibetan Plateau past sparkling lakes and surrounded but endless vistas of mountains and hills. It is sparsely populated and we camp by stream as we reach the end of each day. Crossing the Indus, we should reach Ali/Shiquan. This is the principal town for the whole are & here we rest & replenish our supplies. Turning South, we drive to Darchen (Kailash), visiting the Thirtapuri Spring and the cave of Milarepa en route. In Darchen, we prepare the trek to Circuit Mt. Kailash for camping. We begin our walk with fellow pilgrims, stopping for the night at the Dri-ra Puk monastery. The following day we cross the Dolma La at 18,600ft. camping down in the valley. The third day we complete the 32 miles back to Darchen. We now travel across the plain to Lake Mansarover where we stay two nights, visiting some of the neighboring Ghompas. If possible, we shall also visit Purung close to the border with India & Nepal. We now return to Zhangmu via the southern route. This poorly maintained road travels the length of the Himalayas from India through of Nepal with superb views of the mountain ranges all the way. There are many valleys to be traversed, some totally isolated, some densely populated with yak herders. The area is teeming with wildlife, especially, with deer & small herds of fast moving wild as. We reach Zhangmu again to cross the border back into Nepal and tours/trek end in Kathmandu

The trek takes us into the heart of Nar-Phu, a high, remote region on the Tibetan border east of Mustang and the Damodar Himal. The landscape is wild and largely uninhabited, except for a string of flat roofed Tibetan-style villages along the valley. Here, one can find some of the oldest Buddhist and Bon-Po temples in the Himalayas. In these remote mountains, Nepalese conservationists have recorded eight pairs of Snow Leopards. En route to visiting ancient temples and "magic" caves, the group can explore further into this unknown region in the hope of catching a glimpse of these rare creatures.

The ancient and mysterious Kingdom of Lo, as it is known to its inhabitants, is now open to a limited number of visitors. where we have been helping to establish Environmental Association in conjunction with the King and Royal Family, to preserve the area's unique and fragile environment. We fly in and out of Jomsom to avoid the long approach march, and trek up the west side of the valley, with spectacular views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and the Annapurna massif from the pass at 13 000ft. After visiting Tserang, the second city of Mustang. We continue on through dramatic desert scenery of red and ochre fluted cliffs, to the fabled mediaeval walled city of Lo Manthang. We spend the next few days visiting the outlying temples and villages using Lo Manthang as a base; we may even be lucky enough to have an interview with King. A steep descent into the gorge to visit friends in Dhi (where we will no doubt be treated to some traditional Tibetan hospitality) takes us on the return journey over a spectacular pass at 13000ft and back to the airstrip in Jomsom.

You can make an outstanding trek in eastern Nepal from either Hile or Tumlingtar by walking north up the Arun River to Sedua and Num, then crossing Shipton La into the upper Barun Khola Valley for a close look at Makalu & Chamlang. The trek to Makalu base camp visits one of the most remote and unfrequented areas of Nepal. The Burun valley is part of a huge international protected area under an agreement between Nepal & China. Some groups have attempted an even wilder trek by crossing Sherpani Col & west Col into the upper Hongu Besi. This trek has proved itself difficult & potentially very dangerous. If you want to go into the upper Hongu Besi & the Panch Pokhari situated there.

Kanchenjunga as the Queen of the Great Himalayas, stands on the Nepal-India (Sikkim) border high above rhododendrons and large forests with rivers pouring from it sides. On this trip you will be able to study theculture and life-style of the Rai & Limbu communities. Fly from Kathmandu to Taplejung and trek to Base-Camp at Pangpema and return to Taplejung by the same route; then fly back to Kathmandu (21 days). The lowland portion of this region is culturally intriguing, but there are few good mountain views. The two treks that I have described here will probably need to be extended by a few days because of porter problems, weather, or the need for a rest day. The Kanchenjunga region is the home of the Limbus. Relatives of the Rais, Limbus dominate the region east of the Arun River and few live elsewhere. Limbu men wear a distinctive tall topi, a Nepalese cap that is much more colourful than that worn by other Nepalese. Alternatively bus drive to Basantpur & trek to the base camp; then back to Basantapur or Taplejung (25-28 days). Cross Lobsang La or Mirgin La pass. Spending a few more days gives an adventure for interested clients.

This trip can be made by those who lead a normal active life. The trail is usually not steep, and you will walk 4-5 hours a day. This trek doesn't require any health condition & great views of mountains. Not everyone has the time, drive, or stamina to make a trek into the Himalaya. This should not be a reason for feeling like you have missed out on some of the unique things that Nepal has to offer. In fact, many visitors to Nepal leave for the mountains a little too quickly and never enjoy the treasures closer at hand. Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal and major city in the Kathmandu Valley, is replete with unique buildings, temples, sites and smells. But there are also other cities and many area temples, all within easy walking distance of downtown Durbar Square at the center of Kathmandu. Patan, just to the south of Kathmandu and almost an extension of it, is considered the most "Buddhist" of the valley's three principal centers, and Bhaktapur to the east the most "medieval." Both have a feel similar to that of Kathmandu's, but without the population density and frenetic tourist pace. Of the temples in the valley, Swayambhunath (also called Monkey Temple for the hordes of monkeys living in its shadow) is the closest. A quick jaunt to the west of the capital, it is on a hill and enjoys generous views of the surroundings. The most famous temple in Nepal, Pashupatinath, cannot be visited by non-Hindus. That said, the setting, on the holy Bagmati River just to the east of Kathmandu, is very peaceful. Bodhnath, one of the biggest stupas in the world, is two kilometers through some fields further to the east, and can be visited in the same day. Changunarayan, a two-hour walk from Bhaktapur is visited by few foreigners, and Nagarkot, a town four hours from Bhaktapur, has some of the best Himalayan views in the area. There is so much more. Give the valley its due.

Milke Danda is a 25 km long ridge lying in between the altitudes of 2580 m and 3580m - described as an eastern counterpart of Khaptad Plateau of Far Western Nepal. The ridge has great ecological variation ranging from the Sal Forests of the Tamur and Arun river valleys to alpine vegetation at its highest point. Milke Danda is renowned for for having the highest diversity of Nepalese Rhododendron species (29 out of 32 species reported from Nepal). It has beautiful Midhills forest landscapes including the sacred lakes of Gufa Pokhari and Lam Pokhari. It also has a rich ethnic diversity. The area is notable for its core area of dense virgin Rhododendron forest. There is a long, high forested ridge that divides the Arun & Tamur Valleys, We start trek from Basantapur and make a trek of several days up this ridge that offers views of Makalu to the west and Kanchenjunga to the east. The Milke Danda ridge eventually ends in some high peaks, so you must retrace your route back down, perhaps dropping off the west side through Chainpur and ending the trek at Tumlingtar. There are huge forests of rhododendrons along the ridge, making a spring trek an attractive prospect. You may have seen mountain views if we schedule to trek in April to see the rhododendrons in bloom.

This trek has "everything". The fitter walker can get very close to Mt. Everest on this trek, ascending Kala Patthar for the finest views of the whole massif including Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse & Pumori. An ideal trek for those wising to make the full Everest trek, yet who also have an interest in the local traditions and culture. In 1952 Eric Shipton followed the Imja River en-route to the remote Barun gorge between Baruntse & Makalu. During that journey he described a mountain "resembling an island in a see of ice." Ever since, the name Island Peak has stuck, although it was renamed Imja Tse by the Nepal Mountaineering Association It remains the most popular trekking peak. Dwarfed, by the massive walls of Lhotse, Baruntse & Ama Dablam, its floats between the Imja & Lhotse Glaciers, its south face rears as a rocky triangle; the end of a truncated ridge falling from Lhotse Shar. Charles Evans, Charles Wylie, Alf Gregory & Tenzing Norgay climbed Island Peak in 1953 with a group of seven sherpas, in preparation for Everest Climb. Their climb up to southeast flank and the south ridge from a camp at Pareshaya Gyab remains the normal route of ascent

The true summit of Lobuche East proved an elusive goal but rocky outliners of the peak were first climbed by the Swiss in 1952. Subsequent attempts fell short of the actual summit, soaring above a profound notch at the far end of its long north-west/south-east ridge, finally climbed in 1984. The east face, accessible from Lobuje, has attracted several strong teams. Jeff Lowe has added a difficult route up an icy color, while Todd Bibler and Catherine Freer climbed the obvious rocky East Ridge. Solu Khumbu is justifiably famous, not only for its proximity to the world's highest mountain (8848 meters), but also for its Sherpa villages and monasteries. The primary goal of an Everest trek is the Everest base camp at an elevation of about 5340 metres. But you cannot see Everest from the base camp, so most trekkers climb Kala Pattar, an unassuming 5545-metre bump on the southern flank of Pumori (7145 metres).

This superb trek takes us right through the Khumbu region, with some wonderful views of the major peaks in the area including Everest itself. Getting right away from the more frequented trails we cross a spectacular pass in to the almost uninhabited Hinku Valley, and trek northwards to approach Mera Peak, the highest trekking peak in Nepal at 21247ft. Weather you want to attempt the summit or just go alone for the trek, you will feel as though you have taken part in a real Himalayan expedition. The climb is not technical, but you will need good adaptation to altitude and basic knowledge of ice-axe and crampon techniques. If you don't intend to try for summit, you can still assist with establishing intermediate camps; the highest is at 18000ft.

Khumbu, 3 Peaks is a highly active expedition giving the chance to climbing three peaks in the Everest region, or simply trek between their base camps in remote areas of the Khumbu. It provides an opportunity to climb in the shadow of the world's highest mountains while taking in one of the most famous treks in the Himalaya. In brief, we trek up the Everest Trail to a base camp in a secluded valley opposite of Ama Dablam. Here we acclimatize and practice mountaineering techniques, while climbing Pokalde & Kongma Tse before trekking up the Imja valley to climb Island Peak. From Island Peak, we retrace our steps back down the Imja valley to Dingboche where we drop back down into the Khumbu valley and return to Lukla. Should you wish to shorten the 28 day itinerary then The Island Peak option can be missed out (days 18 - 21) allowing people to return to Kathmandu early & still enjoy a 24 day trip to Nepal. Our three main climbing objectives are - Pokalde-5806m
Pokalde is the 'warm-up' summit and involves mostly mixed terrain of rock and snow, with a straightforward snow climb as far as the summit rocks. An awkward section right at the top involves some scrambling.
Kongma Tse-5820m
Formerly called Mehra Peak, Kongma Tse stands above the Khumbu Glacier. It is one of several summits that make up the long southwest ridge of Nuptse carved out between the Khumbu and Nuptse Glaciers. The views of the massive south face of Nuptse, Pumori to the north and the Lho La are simply spectacular from the summit
Island Peak (Imja Tse)-6189m
We climb the South Ridge, which involves grade 1 scrambling up a gully and easy rock to a glacier. We cross this, negotiating some crevasses to a final steep (40°) snow slope (100m) leading to the summit ridge. This can be corniced and leads in about three rope lengths to the summit. There are superb views of the south face of Lhotse, Baruntse and Ama Dablam.

Trekking beneath the towering ramparts of Chamlang with Lhotse and Everest at all times clearly visible ahead, we spend a rest day beside the sacred lakes at Panch Pokhri. From here we tackle the crux of our route, crossing the challenging Amphu Labsta (18695ft.) to reach the Imja Valley close to Mount Everest. Also climb Island Peak and Lobuche East. This is one of Nepal's finest and most challenging treks, set among breath-taking high mountain scenery.

A trek to the Mardi Himal takes you into one of the most untouched areas of the Himalayas. There are few villages as the majority of this trek is in wilderness that culminates with spectacular close up views of Machhapuchare - the 'Fishtail Mountain'. The climb is on boulders, scree and snow, all of which present little difficulty. The summit can be attained in a few hours from the top camp, and the views (when it is clear) are simply amazing. The location of the mountain, just outside the entrance to the Sanctuary, means that we can see into the famous cirque of mountains whilst still being able to see mountains like Dhaulagiri to the west and Manaslu to the east. After the climb, we descend to the idyllic lakeside town of Pokhara

High Altitude Film Production Logistics
SNT has outfitted several film production expeditions in the Himalaya. After working for film producing companies like Camp 4 Collective, Sherpa Cinemas, and Teton Gravity Research, we understand the logistics for successful filming expeditions.
We have a worldwide network of trusted equipment providers (USA, Hong Kong, Singapore and India), which can be utilized to attain your goal.
In the past, SNT has served Sherpa Cinemas (“Into the Mind,” Film ), Park Productions (“Apple Ipad Air Commercial”) , NBC Universal & Peacock Productions (“Everest Avalanche Tragedy”, Reportage), and Teton Gravity Research (“Higher” Sports Film).
We outfitted following projects in the past: -
Camp4 Collective, USA— “Himalaya Film”
The trio of Anson Fogel, Tim, Renan Oztruk, all founders of Camp4 Collective were in the Himalaya Jan/Feb 2015 to film. They used Shotover F1 with a RED Dragon camera in it. They were the first production team to use such advanced system in Nepal. They wanted to shoot in Langtang and Everest region. Weather cooperated well and the expedition was a success.

Teton Gravity Research, USA- Higher
A team of filmmakers from TGR, Wyoming came to Nepal in 2013 to shoot the movie ‘Higher’. With one of the greatest riders in history- Jeremy Jones and a full film crew, they got what they came for—two runs above 20,000 feet on Shangri La, a dramatic snow-covered peak not far from Everest.
Team used GSS C520 system for their shooting.
